Join us for our Annual Dinner and Anniversary Celebration!

This year marks an extra special milestone for us as Independence Association celebrates 60 years and Spindleworks celebrates its 50th anniversary!

Please join us on Saturday, October 10th to enjoy dinner and drinks, connect with friends and colleagues, and help us celebrate the individuals, families, staff, volunteers, and community partners who make our mission possible. We’ll also present our annual awards and recognize those making a difference across our community.

Registration required.

Thank you to our Annual Dinner sponsors!

 60 Years of Independence!

It’s a big year for us. Independence Association is celebrating 60 years of work supporting adults and children with developmental disabilities in Maine, and Spindleworks is celebrating 50 years of being a nationally recognized progressive art studio for the developmentally disabled community!

So we are celebrating in a big way!

Kicking off with our annual RUN for Independence on Saturday, May 16th, we have many joyful events planned to celebrate inclusion, diversity, and how much we have done and are doing for the community we serve.

As we honor these remarkable milestones, please consider making a donation to support our efforts. Your gift celebrates the legacy we have built together over the past six decades while helping ensure that individuals with disabilities continue to have opportunities to thrive, create, connect, and belong for generations to come.

As we celebrate our 60th anniversary, we're working to raise $60,000 in our 60th year. Thanks to the generosity of our families and board members and a special matching gift challenge, we've already reached $30,000, halfway to our goal. Your gift today can help us close the gap and ensure we reach this important milestone.

A gift of $50 becomes $100. A gift of $100 becomes $200. Every contribution is amplified through this matching opportunity.

We hope you'll consider renewing your support today and helping us unlock the full potential of this matching challenge.

Together, we can continue creating opportunities, fostering independence, and strengthening our community.

Thank you for being an important part of our mission. We are grateful for your past support and hope you'll join us again this year.
